Alexandra Roussopoulos’ pictorial work immediately gave Pinto the radical idea of installing a painting on the ground. Two designs for the “Les châteaux ambulants” (Mobile Castles) series, Plaisio and Kinisi, were used to produce two original rugs. For this innovative project, Pinton worked closely with the artist, both on the choice of materials and colours and when overseeing the production process. Alexandra chose to work with a good thickness of wool and Tencel, positioning the entire rug at the same height. This clear desire for simplicity allowed her to experiment with cuts and colours, giving these two exceptional rugs a bold presence.
