Davide Macullo

Davide Macullo is a Swiss architect who studied architecture, art and interior architecture in several Swiss and American schools. He began his career in Mario Botta’s agency where he was in charge of projects all over the world. Founded in 2000, his own agency is based in Lugano, Switzerland. The philosophy behind the work of Davide Macullo is to promote a cultural dialogue between architects, artists and contributors coming from different backgrounds. These diverse contributions facilitate a conversation between the specificity of the project, the universality of the context and the psychology of the space.

This context-based approach to drawing fosters and reinforces an inclusive vision of architecture, a meeting point between local and international issues covering theory and practice, territorial analysis and pedagogy, as well as building sustainability. Finally, Davide Macullo spends a lot of time drawing, imagining the psychology of space and the never-ending quest of the human being to find his or her ideal space… His drawings, often very colourful and sinuous, inspired the collaboration between PINTON and this great architect’s rich vision.
